Transgender apologist Suzan Cooke is at it again. This time she has rallied to the cause of lead gender fascist "Autumn" Sandeen because a right wing group has used Mr. Sandeen's picture on a web page suggesting that Obama's health care plan will provide coverage for sex affirmation surgery. Well, actually they use the term "gender reassignment surgery," showing that are about as ignorant of things as the gender fascists.
Now, Cooke, who appears to be trying to suck up to Sandeen in the same way she has sucked up to Monica Helms, misses a couple of points here. First off, Sandeen does not seem to be the least bit upset at being targeted. In fact, Sandeen, who has has one of the most massive egos of any gender fascist, seems quite delighted to be the poster child for this issue. Sandeen nver complains about having his name or picture used...except possibly where someone is actually showing him for the bad joke that he is.
Second, and very closely related, Cooke seems to miss the fact that Sandeen has actively sought this sort of attention. Sandeen is not at all shy about making sure his picture is available to anyone seeking an image of a transgender person.
And yet, Cooke is just beside herself over the imminent danger she imagines that Sandeen is facing. Cooke, like many transgender activists, seeks to imply that any disagreement with their viewpoint is tantamount to violence. Such a view is simply a way of seeking to restrict disagreement.
The actual bottom line is, this is just another example of the damage that the transgender crowd causes those HBS and/or true or classic transsexuals. Sandeen was for many years an avowed non-op, and if he ever does have SAS it will probably be another disaster. He is not respresentative of those for who surgery is medically indicated. Proper candidates are seeking to correct their bodies and to get on with their lives with some sense of normality. Someone like Sandeen, who simply seeks attention is remotely comparable.

Would you send me the link to that right wing web site you cited? I have a little extra vitriol this morning I'd like to spew... LOL
You can find the link at Sandeen's post: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/diary/12371/obamacare-is-apparently-obama-trannycare-and-im-apparently-the-poster-child-of-it
Sandeen was for many years an avowed non-op...
May I have your reference for that please? I literally have never been an avowed non-op, so I'm actually curious as to where that bit of false information about me originated.
I do have a timeline for surgery, and have pretty much had this same timeline since I came out, and that will be within the next few of years.
Actually Autumn,
You told a number of us to our faces you would not have the surgery.
"I want to keep what I have".
You can't tell the truth to save your nearly worthless life.
The damage transgender people cause? I think you have it very backwards.
I am not transsexual, and I have read many articles written by Autumn and other transgender activists, as well as posts from transsexuals who are proponents of the "HBS" label. And I have seen a pattern.
I can promise you, from the outside looking in, Autumn's words come off as much more consistently thought-provoking, while the crap I've read from people like Just Jennifer here just sounds like mean-spirited propaganda. I mean, calling Autumn a "gender fascist", deliberately using a male pronoun when you know she doesn't identify as such, that is the kind of incendiary rhetoric I would expect from the extreme Christian right - and it seems to me that whether or not Autumn elects to get surgery is her own business not yours.
Furthermore, I understand you want to advocate for the use of the HBS label and its implications, and that would be one thing - but it's rather presumptuous to write "formerly known as transsexualism" on your website, seeing as how there has not been any kind of scientific consensus whatsoever in favor of using your terminology, and really it's just a small group of you who are actively endorsing it.
Fine if you want to suggest it as an alternative term, but to state as a matter of fact that it has already replaced the word transsexualism, well that's just misinformation, plain and simple. This is not how you make change in the scientific and medical communities.
In my experience Autumn tries to add something meaningful to the political and academic discourse surrounding gender issues, and regardless of what mistakes she occasionally makes, it is clear that she is always concerned with keeping the discussion civil and respectful.
This post by Just Jennifer does the exact opposite.
I just betcha Just Jennifer would claim to be a Christian, too.

I believe the next comment answers this rather nicely. Now, I also agree that you have made comments to the effect that you want surgery, but you have also said the following:
“My penis doesn’t bother me as a body part, in fact I like being able to stand up and pee — it’s really a plus. But the downside: as a sexual organ I am very uncomfortable with it. And I know that kind of makes me almost unique among my transgender friends because most of them are either happy they have a penis — M2Fs — they’re non-ops and happy or they’re pre-ops and they’re not happy. Me, I’m kind of in between. I’m going to be an op, I’m a pre-op I guess, but at the same time I’m not really sweating how long it takes me to get there.
You talk about having surgery in terms of years. Personally, I think you simply want to claim to seeking surgery so you can achieve what you mistakenly believe is some sort of extra status. I do believe, quite seriously, that based on your own words that if you ever do have surgery it will be a mistake. And we don't need another post-op with regrets.
Eshto, let me begin by saying that here, unlike other sites, I don't generally practice censorship.
Okay, you are not a transsexual. At least you admit that. You are entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree with it. Yes, Sandeen is a gender fascist. He imposes his views on others. He has no respect for the opinions and rights of others. And yes, I use male pronouns in referring to Mr. Sandeen. You see, unlike the radical transgender extremists, I don't think that one automatically becomes a female, a woman, or whatever, simply by putting on a dress. Being a woman is not just an identity. And yes, whether or not someone gets surgery can have a direct impact on the lives of those who really need it. I can name quite a few examples of people who have had surgery and because of regrets have caused problems for others.
Quite frankly, as I said, you are welcome to your opinion, but in reality, Mr. Sandeen is intolerant of those who disagree, insulting to those he considers to be wrong, and extremely quick to try to censor those who actually show his positions for the silliness that they are. What you call civil and respectful, I would call one-sided and sterilized of any disagreement.
Yes, Kathleen, I am a Christian, and not at all ashamed of being so. I do find it interesting that you treat that as though it were some sort of insult.
Wow. You get non-op from that statement? I even said "pre-op" in that statement.
And, you think I'm going to have regrets when I have GRS, extrapolated from statements I made in 2005 when I'd been out perhaps a year-and-a-half?
And for these statements I made then, and my differing views than yours, you also refer to me by male pronouns?
Wow. Just wow.
I'll just stop engaging you now.
But...Wow. You're an interesting individual, aren't you?
Sincerely, I wish you peace and joy.
No, I get non-op from the fact that people who know you have said you were adamant that you did not want surgery. What I get from the statement I quoted is someone who is what might jokingly be referred to as a "perpetual pre-op."
You know, there is an old joke that is more true than you might want to admit...."How do you know a tranvestite has been in the bathroom? The toilet seat is up."
Seriously, you really should drop the pretense, and just go on being what you really are.
And no, I use male pronouns because, quite frankly, you don't vibe as a woman. I spent way too much of my life trying to deny what I was, and I was a mess. You spent most of your life as a quite successful man. Twenty years in the Navy? Hey, I appreciate the service, but don't try to make me think you were really a woman. Yes, I know women serve in the military, but they serve as men. You did. You shown no signs of having actually had any serious issues with your gender until you had lived for many years as a man.
And thank you. I wish you peace and joy as well, which is why I warning you to not make a mistake you cannot undo.
It's a common misconception among the non-transsexual types that they can become transsexual by having surgery. Or at least they can steal more legitimacy and drown out the voices of their fellow "post ops" once they have the magic ritual performed.
The transsexual syndrome is something you are born with- you either have it, or you don't. There is no way to become transsexual by having genital surgery.
Nobody believes for a minute that the transgender spokespeople who run around perpetually "pre-op" are anything but poseurs. And nobody who claims to be a happily-penised woman has any credibility at all.
I have met Sandeen at an event in LA.
He doesn't vibe as a woman. Not as bad as Helms but hay Helms is one seriously messed up person.

Yes, and there is also the misconception that one can gain credibility by claiming to be pre-op when one is not.

Well, the old joke used to be, "If you are not a transsexual before surgery, you will be afterwards." That is, so to speak, you will become an FTM.
Nobody believes for a minute that the transgender spokespeople who run around perpetually "pre-op" are anything but poseurs. And nobody who claims to be a happily-penised woman has any credibility at all.
I agree. I cannot imagine someone who is remotely transsexual making such a statement. I have seen a lot of poseurs making such a remark. I met one local crossdresser who likes to say, "If I woke up tomorrow and found I had a vagina instead of a my penis, it owuld not bother me at all..." Sure...and if anyone believes that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

I have never met either, thankfully, and only know them from what I have seen online. I have seen both of them in videos, and I have to agree. Helms is definitely worse. That is not saying a whole lot though.
"If I woke up tomorrow and found I had a vagina instead of a my penis, it owuld not bother me at all..."
I've heard this more than once from crossdressers too. I suppose that's why they have their conventions and groups- so they can come up with insulting things to say about women.
